Onze missie
Elk kind, kind laten zijn
Door onze eigen ervaringen ontstond het idee voor Stichting De Kleine Strijders. We realiseerden ons hoe cruciaal ondersteuning is voor gezinnen die zich in vergelijkbare situaties bevinden. Ons doel werd duidelijk: we willen een verschil maken voor de kleine strijders en hun families.
Het begin van ons verhaal
Ons verhaal begon in 2016, een jaar dat ons leven voorgoed zou veranderen. We verwachtten met vreugde de geboorte van onze tweeling, Maartje en Lise. Hun komst was de vervulling van onze droom, maar al snel werden we geconfronteerd met een harde realiteit.
Maartje, een van onze meisjes, werd geboren met een zeldzame hartafwijking, bekend als hypoplastisch linkerhartsyndroom. De strijd die volgde, was intens en hartverscheurend. Maandenlang worstelden we met onzekerheden en angst, terwijl Maartje dapper meerdere operaties en medische ingrepen doorstond.
